On Thursday 10th of April , Mark Boardman the legend....wait for it!......Ary Drummer from our favorite band Lovejoy, dropped his second "lo-fi" EP entitled "Missed Calls" on GreenCode Records.
featuring four song's
- missed calls
- nowhere to go

- i miss you
Mark has been a massive fan of "lo-fi" Beats and over the past couple of years has been experimenting in the lofi vibes to perfect his sound, his first EP was released back in November 2024 titled "lofi Evening" to critical acclaim.
This was the perfect soundtrack for my recent train journey, listening to the chill vibes whilst whiling away the commute, staring out of the train window looking at everything but nothing just gathering thoughts.
I wholeheartedly recommend listening to Kram beats for that quiet time, study time or even on the commute.

What is Lo-fi ?
Lo-fi music, short for "low fidelity," is a musical genre characterized by a deliberately less polished sound, often embracing imperfections like static, background noise, and less-than-professional production techniques. It's a subgenre of electronic music that mixes elements of hip-hop, jazz, and dream pop, creating a relaxed and calming atmosphere.
Key Characteristics:
Lo-fi music intentionally deviates from the standards of "high fidelity" audio, which aims for a pristine and perfect sound.
It's often characterized by imperfections like distortion, tape hiss, and background noise, which are embraced as part of the artistic expression.
Relaxed and Calming:
Lo-fi music often features downtempo beats, simple chords, and melodies, creating a peaceful and soothing vibe.
Lo-Fi Hip-Hop:
A popular subgenre within lo-fi, often featuring samples and beats, and frequently associated with the "study" or "chill" vibe.
Many lo-fi artists are drawn to the genre's embrace of homemade, DIY production techniques, which can create a more authentic and unique sound.
Origins and History:
The term "lo-fi" initially referred to recordings of lower quality, often made with less expensive equipment or in less professional settings.
Lo-fi music gained prominence in the 1990s, with the rise of indie rock and alternative music scenes that embraced imperfections as a stylistic choice.
In recent years, lo-fi has exploded in popularity, particularly within the hip-hop community, and on platforms like YouTube, where it's often streamed 24/7.
Why is it popular?
Lo-fi's gentle and atmospheric sound is often used as background music for studying, working, or relaxing.
Aesthetic Appeal:
The genre's raw and imperfect sound is appealing to many, creating a unique and nostalgic feel.
Lo- embrace of DIY production techniques resonates with artists and listeners who value authenticity and self-expression.
